This vase is made using real horsehair.  The piece is heated in a kiln.  It is pulled out while it is hot and hair is applied to the surface.  The hair burns away and leaves the  black carbon lines where it touched the pot.  The orange bands are created by ferric chloride.  Please Note:  Horsehair Pottery is not water safe.
